About me
After studying graphics at the London College of Printing, I embarked on brief professional forays into cartography, technical illustration and graphic design before settling on a lifelong career in journalism, a decade of which was spent writing for the Eastern Daily Press in my home city of Norwich.
My practice
I like the idea that prints can be seen simultaneously by more than one person in more than one place. Originally inspired to return to art by David Hockney’s pioneering and boisterous pushing at the boundaries of drawing and painting on the mighty iPad, I think I’ve now found a tipping point where tricksy computing meets and makes way for tradition. You’ll see the direction of the journey from ‘new age pointillism’ to small limited editions of large scale handmade serigraphs in the pictures on this site.
Buying my work
Making prints makes art affordable while issuing them as small limited editions means you’re unlikely to bump into another one if you pop next door for a cuppa.
The cost depends mainly on the size of the edition, the dimensions and the type of print (hand-made serigraphs/screen prints made by the artist are generally more expensive than fine art Giclée prints).
By way of example, the fine art Giclée miniprints (approx 100 x 120mm images in a 240 x 240mm frame) like those in the ‘Tourist hotspots’ collection cost around £40, the ‘Italy’ landscapes average £120 each while the large (approx 400 x 650mm) framed artist-made screenprints in ‘The Serigraphs’ are around £150.
